Learning, assessment, academic integrity and appeals
How learning is assessed, what completion requires, how AI may and may not be used, and how to appeal.
This policy is a working draft prepared for the ISDL pilot. It describes how the platform actually works and will be finalised after legal review, including confirmation of the school's legal entity and data controller.
Assessment
- Knowledge checks are scored automatically against reviewed answer keys. You may make up to the configured number of attempts; your best score counts.
- Applied tasks receive formative, rubric-based feedback.
- The capstone is assessed by ISDL reviewers against a published rubric.
- AI-assisted feedback, where offered, is clearly labelled as formative and never determines a result.
Completion
To receive a Certificate of Completion you must complete all 12 weekly units, pass required knowledge checks at the published threshold, submit the capstone, and meet this academic integrity policy. Exceptions must be approved and are logged.
Academic integrity
Your submitted work must be your own. You may use ISDL Tutor Assist to understand concepts, practise, and test your reasoning. You must not use any tool — including Tutor Assist or other AI — to write work that you present as your own, and you must not share knowledge-check answers. Do not include confidential employer or client information in your work.
Appeals
If you disagree with an assessment outcome on procedural grounds, contact the course team within 14 days. A different reviewer will consider the appeal. Certificate revocations follow the same process.
